3D Miniature Paper Models by Yeni Kim of March Studio
Meet Yeni Kim, the creator behind March Studio, who is a talented paper artist and art director. One of her most spectacular miniature scenes is a dimensional paper representation of Luxembourg Garden in Paris, crafted to honor the 2024 Paris Olympics and its opening ceremony.
Yeni’s Etsy shop, StudioHandKraft, features her DIY paper craft kits, including a trio of tiny paper plants which was recently highlighted on this blog. It was through Instagram that I truly discovered the depth of her work when watching the construction of Luxembourg Garden unfold and learning about the incredibly detailed paper models she creates for high-profile clients with apparent limitless patience.
Workshops and Collaborations
Yeni’s artistry extends beyond personal projects—she has been commissioned to host
exclusive workshops for luxury brands. Some of her collaborations include:
Van Cleef & Arpels: Workshop where attendees created the intricate paper flowers shown in the photo below.
Christian Dior, Chanel, and Volvo: Multi-day VIP workshops designing custom paper projects.
On Instagram, see the Van Cleef & Arpels floral workshop come to life here.

Creative Process and Materials
Yeni meticulously designs each project on an iPad, bringing her ideas to life with a Glowforge laser cutter. For elements that are too delicate for laser cutting, she carefully cuts each tiny piece by hand. She prefers cotton or recycled paper (180-209gsm) for its eco-friendliness and durability, and relies on Monami glue, a Korean adhesive.
Gwanghwamun Gate, a cultural heritage site in Seoul
Yeni explains that when crafting a famous landmark she prefers to see the building in person. When that’s not possible, she immerses herself in research, collecting images from multiple angles. Then she reinterprets the structure, emphasizing key features to fit the miniature scale.

Yeni's Paper Art Journey
"I grew up in Seoul, South Korea, and studied
crafts and fashion at art college. It's been about 14 years since I
started working as an art director and paper artist. During this time,
I've collaborated with various companies—from luxury brands to
broadcasting stations—sharing my love for paper art along the way."
"I moved to the United States about three years ago when my agency and some exciting opportunities brought me here. I currently live in Michigan, and I've found the peaceful daily life and relaxed pace gives me so much positive inspiration for my work—quite different from the bustling energy of Seoul. The beautiful nature, open skies, sunshine, and the warmth of people here are things I'm really grateful for. I've come to appreciate how much our surroundings can influence our creative process."
Reimagined Home Alone house with a gingerbread twist
"I started creating DIY products to share what I've learned through my work and teaching, hoping to bring the joy of creating to others. I found that many paper craft kits on the market tend to focus on the activity itself, and I wondered if there might be a way to create something people would want to keep and display afterward."
"I wanted to design something that people could proudly display as part of their home décor after they finished making it. Paper is eco-friendly, the process of making is wonderfully absorbing, and I hoped the finished product could be both beautiful and functional—that was my vision for these craft kits."
"It's been heartwarming to see individual customers buying my kits as gifts for their crafty friends, and lately, I've been fortunate to have companies requesting bulk orders for workshops. I'm excited to keep creating new designs that I hope you'll enjoy, so we can continue exploring the wonderful world of paper craft together!"
