Unique Paper Jewelry to Love All Year
Paper jewelry is anything but ordinary and it’s more popular than ever! While Valentine’s Day might inspire searches for heart-themed designs, symbols of love and artistic craftsmanship are timeless.
Modern and Minimalist Paper Jewelry
Monica Peksa (featured previously) in Austria designs sleek, contemporary paper jewelry that's worthy of a second look. These stylish earrings feature a heart-inspired silhouette, while the pair below is elegant with its green-grey and gold color palette. Isn't it surprising that it is crafted from mundane corrugated cardboard?
Monica incorporates stainless steel and brass elements, ensuring durability without compromising the featherlight feel of paper jewelry.

Sculptural and Geometric Paper Jewelry
Sally Prangley in the Pacific Northwest merges wirework and paper artistry to create playful, lightweight jewelry. This Heart Trapeze necklace is both whimsical and bold. Heart earrings are available too.
Another highlight from her collection is the Circus series, where colorful paper patterns are carefully applied to sturdy paper geometric cubes... Sally offers both earrings and an equally stylish cube necklace.

Intricate Weaving
Shanu, the artist behind Etsy shop Kalaap in North Carolina, is adept at a circular style of paper weaving. She turns her columns of color into attractive jewelry pieces... mainly earrings, such as these woven earrings that are accented with sparkly beads.
For this standout necklace, a curved bar of woven segments is paired with gleaming pearlescent beads that give a refined, yet artistic look. Shanu offers free shipping, making her work even more irresistible.
Jewelry That Tells a Story
Journalist Richa Goyal Sikri commissioned UK literary jewelry artist Jeremy May to make this layered paper ring from the pages of her debut book, No Stone Unturned, the Hunt for African Gems, True Short Stories. (A reviewer said, "Extremely entertaining and detailed stories about the gem world. It’s like a peek behind the curtain of the jewelry world.")
When beginning a new piece, Jeremy first reads the book and then, taking inspiration from its pages, carves them into a one of a kind design that preserves the text within layers of lacquer.
This bold and beautiful paper pendant is another one of Jeremy's masterpieces. It was made from the book 'Blindness (Cecità )' (1995) by José Saramago. Jeremy explained that, "The literary jewel was inspired by Saramago's story that chronicles an unprecedented epidemic of blindness that sweeps across a nation."

Contemporary with an Edge
A true innovator in modern paper jewelry, Verde Alfieri in Milan, Italy, is continually creating stylish pieces to add to her website, Verde Alfieri, and Etsy shop, Verde Alfieri Jewel Design. Recently, Verde has been creating small geometric pieces in addition to her bigger, bolder styles. The vibrant cherry red of the oval earrings (above) is perfectly on-trend for 2025.
I'm also admiring these deep red studs with their elegant, thin gold stripes.
