Festive Paper Ornament Round Up
Somehow we've already reached the time of year to think about decorating for Christmas. Because one of my favorite things to do each season is hang paper ornaments on the tree, as well as make some of my own as present toppers, I always enjoy a good Etsy browse to see what's new. Have a look at what I found this year (trend hint... honeycomb ornaments in all shapes and sizes).
These handmade honeycomb ornaments are from Noemi's shop, imeondesign, in Oregon. Choose your colors to make a set of four richly colored and sturdy baubles. I love her paper artichoke (yes, artichoke)! It was featured ages ago on this blog and I was happy to see she's still making them.
Amanda of OrigamiBloom in the UK offers a lovely folded paper stars garland.
Your choice of seven, nine, or eleven stars, each one of which will be
made of gold, red, silver, ivory or blue luxury metallic paper. She makes another style of dimensional star ornament in vivid colors too.
Ben Goraj of shop goraygami in Michigan folds premium gold or silver foil gift wrap into intricate origami ornaments. He also offers this origami Christmas tree topper that is quite the showstopper. It's available in three sizes.
This Scandinavian kraft paper star and snowflake set made by Charlotte of VintageInspiredVIC in Canada is awesome. They're nice and large, measuring 15-22 inches in diameter; a set of three ornaments is available too.
Dylan Larson of PaperdudeCreations in California must have a fun sense of humor judging by these Santa hat-wearing origami crane ornaments available in your choice of paper colors including metallic gold or silver. He also offers an attractive origami nativity set that has received really nice reviews.
Paper honeycomb ornaments in lovely shapes and colors can be purchased from Maria Kurucova of vijuCrafts in Slovakia. Some reviews mention that shipping takes time, so plan accordingly. With that in mind, I might add that she offers very pretty Easter decorations too.
These beautifully quilled ornaments made by Barb Walters of BarbarryDesigns in Canada are offered in 3-inch or 5-inch widths in an array of colors. Reviews are excellent and Barb ships for free to the U.S.
ThePaperAssembly in Oregon has been one of my favorite Etsy shops for a long while. I have a thing for Debra Glanz's handsome/quirky layered boxes, available in three sizes, and she also makes these classy little book ornaments. There are a number of sets still available, but they'll go quickly especially now that everything in the shop is 25% off until November 28, 2024.
You're sure to find the house(s) of your dreams in Anne Louvau's shop, BelgianPaperworks, in California, as there are no less than 50-something listings. This set of six little red-roofed ornaments - along with all other items in the shop - are 25% off until December 3, 2024. Free delivery too.
This set of five paper snowflakes from Libby's shop, HinterlandGoodsCo, in Wisconsin will be extra showy when displayed as a garland as each one is generously-sized at eight inches in diameter. There are pretty Nordic paper ornaments and icicle sets too. Free delivery.
Glittered honeycomb ornaments made by Monika of moffka
in Poland are such graceful shapes. They're composed of pages from
library books that would otherwise be discarded. Free delivery too.
Last but not least... a type of ornament that perhaps you would like to make: Pennsylvania German (also called Moravian or Froebel) paper stars. One year I made dozens and wish I'd known then about BethlehemPaper.
For those who are searching for a supplier of long paper strips,
Frances Jane Tuscano in Ohio has stocked her shop with many paper choices, such as these musical note strips in a variety of widths and lengths. And here's a very nice paper stars video that walks you through the weaving process.
