10 Altered Book Snowmen and Folded Book Patterns
A blog commenter asked if I could help with finding a book page snowman to display in her home. Because I love going down the rabbit hole when it comes to searching for paper projects, her request was right up my alley. While she wanted to purchase a ready-made one, I sent links to a few folded book patterns too, just in case she felt inspired to try crafting one herself. You might also, so here's my round up of snowman eye candy.
I suspect Michelle of Lushs Creations has no problem conjuring up a cold weather scene despite living in toasty Scottsdale, Arizona... just look at the dapper altered book snowman figures she makes. (The cost includes shipping - nice.) She crafts the lovely vintage book Christmas tree that's shown behind the snowman, and all sorts of cork cuties too.
Alicia Bottles of Smalltown Grace in Colfax, Illinois makes a variety of really nice projects from unwanted books including this lovable snowman with matching scarf and buttons.
She also offers him in festive ornament form, as well as an altered book Christmas tree with a handsome birch wood base.
Lara of Creaton Crafts in Northampton, UK lists a number of altered book decorations for Christmas... from this chubby snowman (also available in a set of three sizes) to a red-nosed reindeer ornament that I can't resist sneaking in a picture of here...
...along with a bell, angel, and Christmas tree. Here's a page that includes all of her holiday choices in one spot.
Prefer to make your own? Lara has written an altered book snowman tutorial for making the snowmen trio.
Mary Bottita in Happy Valley, Oregon of Gift with Treasures makes this cute folded book snowman that she will personalize with your choice of ink and ribbon color (delivery included). She lists a digital folded book snowman pattern too, along with many others, as well as a multitude of finished folded books.
Kainoa Ynigues of Kais Kreations
in Pasco, Washington makes this altered book snowman ornament with
twig arms, tiny black buttons, and a warm scarf. The golden snowflake
hanger adds a finishing touch.
Ready... Set.... Fold!

With nearly 20,000 patterns sold, Anessa of NailYt Book Art is clearly doing something right. She says in the description of this appealing folded book snowman that "Even if you are a beginner at book folding, this is everything you need to be able to create your own folded book."
A reviewer backed her up by saying, "As a novice, this was a tough pattern. But it was doable and looked
pretty close to the photo. These patterns are fantastic with the level
of detail included."
There are 64(!) Christmas choices in case you'd like to make more.
Zoe Wright of Zoe's Novel Creations in Barnsley, UK offers hundreds of cut and fold, as well as folded book patterns with quite a few geared to Christmas and winter. This winking snowman is a cutie, as is this Let It Snow snowman.
If you'd rather not take on a project yourself, she will fold one for you or create a custom design.
