Quilling Flowers Book Release
It's always a happy day when a new quilling book by talented pro-quiller Sena Runa is unveiled. In just one week's time Quilling Flowers will be available for purchase in North America. It can be pre-ordered from Amazon now... be the first on your block to own a copy!
Whether you are new to quilling or have years of experience, Sena's fresh designs with modern lines will entice you to get rolling. Each flower is worthy being framed or placed on a greeting card for someone special.
As I paged through an advance copy courtesy of GMC Publications, I was delighted to see so many beautiful spring flowers since they're in bloom here in Delaware at the moment - daffodils, tulips, pansies, and magnolias. You'll also find lots of summer favorites like sunflowers, hibiscus, and water lilies. Of course autumn and winter are represented too.
Sena created a template for each of the twenty projects and included the necessary strip colors, lengths and tools, many step-by-step photos along with written instructions, as well as introductory quilling information and how to create specialty shapes like waves and zigzags. Info about tools and materials is covered too.
I love the way Sena used the zigzag folding technique to represent the jagged edges of a carnation.
If Sena's name is new to you, enjoy this 2015 blog post in which I interviewed her. She had only been quilling about two plus years at that point, but already it was abundantly clear that she is a natural at designing. The modern, on-edge wall art she was creating even then for her Etsy shop was wow-worthy. By the way, if you are on Instagram, follow along with Sena as her feed is a joy to see.
And now a US and UK Giveaway! [ENDED]
SIX chances to win!

To enter to win [ENDED] a copy of Quilling Flowers simply post a comment on this page after reading the note below:
NOTE: You must include your email address within your actual comment so that you can be notified if you win. If spam is a concern, type it this way in the comment box: janedoe at gmail dot com (This blog's platform makes it impossible for me to see the email address you type in at first, thus the necessity to type it twice.)
This giveaway is also underway on Instagram. [ENDED] Feel free to double your chances by entering both places. Winners will be selected on Sunday, May 7 via a random number generator - three from blog entries and three from Instagram entries - and announced at the bottom of this post and on the Instagram post after they have been notified.
Quilling Flowers can be purchased from Amazon, your favorite local bookseller, and/or ask your library to order a copy. Sena's previous books are Quilling Art and Quilling: 20 Beautiful Designs.
