Covetable Paper Jewelry Made by Six Jewelry Artists
Almost daily I come across new paper jewelry artists, mainly on Instagram. Paper jewelry is truly having a moment and I know why... it's colorful, imaginative, and unexpected! And the fact that it's practically a guaranteed conversation starter is one of my favorite things about it. I love telling people that the piece they're admiring is made of paper and then watching for an expression of utter surprise when the 'p'-word registers.
Annabelle in Lille, France and the owner of Etsy shop Papiruss Design has so many modern pieces and lovely photos that I could hardly stop clicking. This paper, rye straw, and resin Jungle Romance bangle bracelet shines like the tropical sun.
Similar summery patterns are used for these gold plated chain link bracelets with triangular findings, You'll find coordinating earrings in the shop, and even Annabelle's packaging is fresh, pretty, and complements the jewelry perfectly. She is on Instagram, @papiruss59.
Sara of Sara'Home Creation in Normandy, France is inspired by Asian and Art Nouveau designs, and uses Japanese hand-screened washi to create colorful limited series or one-off jewelry pieces. In addition to the asymmetric sunny yellow earrings and elegant black, white, and gold earrings that you see here, she also makes paper necklaces, as well as attractive bracelets using kimono fabric.
Sara's Etsy shop is Sara'Home Creation and her Facebook page is Sara'Home.
I spotted these feminine silver and light blue paper earrings with crystal and silver beads on the Instagram feed of Valentina (@lovart_vale) in Italy and just had to bring them to your attention.
I also love the colors and design of this pair of watercolor earrings with a cardboard core protected by glass paint. Valentina is also on Facebook, Lov' Art. Contact her via Instagram or Facebook to place an order.
Cristina Musiani in Bologna, Italy of Etsy shop Kiku Paper Studio folds paper into architectural structures, such as these vivid yellow geometric earrings that combine high quality FAVINI paper with brass findings.
This long, ultra-modern interlocked paper necklace is worn with a knot. Cristina is on Instagram, @kikupaper.
Book sculptor, mixed media collage artist, and jewelry designer, Christine Rozina in Aachen, Germany originally trained as a graphic designer. I recommend a visit to her website or Instagram feed to see the intriguing carved face artist books she creates, but also her exceptional jewelry. This book page pendant MOIRÈ features a sterling silver case with a single opal.
Christine's elegant Literary Spindles necklace is composed of book beads and elements of gold-plated sterling silver. She welcomes commissioned work as it gives her the opportunity to get to know the client's personality in order to create a customized piece. Christine is on Instagram, @christinerozina.
