Paper Designer Laure Farion of Papier Papier Papier
I can't think of a more colorful, cheerful Instagram feed than that of French paper artist Laure Farion! When those of us in cold climes are getting pretty antsy for Mother Nature to turn up the heat, springtime-fresh eye candy is most welcome. Luckily, Laure provides all sorts of lovely paper sculpture images to assure us warmth is on the way.
Yep, just like in my garden, Laure's paper crocuses bloom in snow.
She has been an admirer of paper's strength and resiliency ever since working with it in 3D form while studying architecture and design. Previously an art teacher, Laure turned to working at home as an independent custom paper designer several years ago.
She creates paper decor for shop windows, events, social media networks, ad campaigns, and even finds time to share tutorials and templates... for example, these pretty DIY paper jonquilles. Laure's word for daffodils brought back memories as my mom always called the ones in our garden jonquils... I didn't realize it was a French derivation.
Note: you'll need to translate the directions. If you don't have a Silhouette or Cricut, the components can be cut by hand.
Also some cute paper pansies with a pretty translucent pillow envelope... let someone know you're thinking of them.
And on the heels of spring flowers, strawberries and blueberries will arrive... and later on, butterflies too. Can't wait!
In a professional capacity, Laure has designed for the Louvre, childrens' wear specialists Jacadi Paris and Petit Bateau, and Clairefontaine. Also Catimini, a French paper manufacturer known for its stationery, school and office supplies, Poupee Rousse and LÕU.YETU, jewelry merchants, fashion design house, Courrèges Paris, plus more.
You might recall Laure's name from when I included her book, Paper Joy for Every Room: 15 Fun Projects to Add Decorating Charm to Your Home, in a round up post of new papercraft books just last spring.
Stylish and fun, the colorful projects include a paper headboard, llama mobile, whale coin bank, houseplant and a tiny house... it's well-worth checking out.
Visit Laure's joy-filled Instagram feed, @papierpapierpapier, where not only will you be entertained by her captions, but you will also be treated to stop motion videos that she produces in conjunction with paper art... so clever! Her website is also named Papier Papier Papier.
Ann, her Instagram is a delight. Thanks
