Exquisite Japanese Paper Jewelry by CleOrigami
Welcome to October, which in blog-speak means the return of giveaways. Believe it or not, we're approaching gifting season, the best time of year for creative shop owners and book publishers to appear on our radar. Leading the way is talented jewelry designer Cléo Raksanyi of Etsy shop CleOrigami, who makes an imaginative range of earrings and necklaces.
As an Etsy affiliate, I earn from qualifying linked purchases at no additional cost to you.
How pretty are the moody autumnal colors in this pair of drop earrings? Very! I love the many directions Cléo takes elegant Japanese papers by combining them with wood and/or brass elements, as well as gemstones and glass beads.
She also creates tiny origami figures, such as cranes and horses, and considering the time of year, you'll find several Halloween designs in the shop... for example this metallic paper, hand painted pair adorned with whimsical spiders.
You might recall the post last spring in which I first featured Cléo's jewelry after meeting her on Instagram. In that Artist Spotlight, she told about turning her passion for jewelry making into a small business that she could handle from home while raising two young sons in Vancouver, Canada.
As a mother of boys myself (now grown), my hat is off to her for all she manages to accomplish... nearly every day Cléo shows a new design on Instagram and updates frequently with fun Reels and Stories. Here's the latest Behind the Scenes in which she shows her process.
In addition to the items you'll find in her Etsy shop, Cléo welcomes custom orders and will do her best to accommodate color requests. If you spot a design in her Instagram feed that is not in the Etsy shop but is just what you're looking for, most likely she will be able to replicate it.
Cléo protects the paper with layers of lacquer to make it waterproof. Brass joins are secured with UV resin on the back of the piece. She is able to replace earring hooks with clips if you prefer.
Customer reviews are more like raves... for example:
These earrings are absolutely wonderful. Great quality, gorgeous paper, and fast delivery!!
Exquisite! ❤️ Perfectly crafted and even lovelier than the photo.
And now a worldwide giveaway! [NOW ENDED] To enter to win a pair of earrings of your choice from Etsy shop CleOrigami with a value of up to $35 CAD (roughly $30 USD) just leave a comment on this post through Saturday, October 9, 2021.
Because I'm unable to see the email address you type in at first on the comment form, you will need to include your address within your actual comment so I can notify you if you win. If spam is a concern, type it this way: janedoe at gmail dot com
Two chances to win! An identical worldwide giveaway is underway on Instagram. You may enter both places to double your chances, but can only win once.
Winners will be chosen via a random number generator - one from blog entries and one from Instagram entries - notified, and announced at the bottom of this post and on the Instagram post on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
Visit Cléo's Origami and follow along with her newest designs and updates on Instagram. For example, she will be doing a holiday fair at the end of November in Vancouver.
Congratulations to winners Anneke here on the blog and SouthernStampQueen on Instagram!
This is not a paid giveaway, although I will receive jewelry from
Cleo's Origami Jewelry in exchange for hosting.
Awesome earrings ... fingers crossed :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the earrings with the autumn vibe so much I went straight to Cleo's Etsy page to buy a pair for myself. Some lucky gal must've beat me to them!
ReplyDeleteI saw on Instagram that she will be posting another of the same pair along with two other pairs (same style, different papers) in the shop next week, so keep a lookout.
DeleteMy favorite earrings are the horses. I appreciate that she accommodates non-pierced ears or in my case a pierced ear lobe that just won't tolerate posts anymore. My e-mail: ellencrouch605 at gmail dot com

How does an ex-Army dude end up on a paper jewelry post on a fine Sunday morning? It's fate! Very pretty to look at.
