Take Your Gift Wrapping to the Next Level
While I'm an unabashed fan of wrapping gifts, I can understand why some folks find it to be the most tedious and frustrating part of holiday preparations. But you know what makes it easier? Using high quality, color-coordinated gift wrap that's bound to give you a sense of pride when you hand your presents to loved ones. Frankly, it's impossible to not up your package wrapping game when you use Tuttle Publishing's gift wrap collections.
Oh gee, that nearly sounded like a late night TV infomercial. In my defense, I find that Tuttle's gift wrap 'books' not only make presents look classy, but the papers are just the right weight and durable too.
They don't crease in all the wrong places, nor do they tear too easily or lose color along fold lines. And the collections that feature papers with Pantone metallic inks? Extra gorgeous!
New books this year are Shimmering Silver, Japanese Shibori, and Japanese Washi. As a longtime admirer of a bit of sparkle and shine so the Shimmering Silver collection is what I'll be using for my Christmas packages.
It features black, white, pink, and silver in an array of pretty patterns, a few of which fit perfectly into the retro-style that the young people on my gift list are drawn to these days.
Japanese shibori and washi are also on-trend themes in the design world. Note that the washi collection is gift wrap with printed patterns that are typical of Japanese washi; it's not actual handmade paper with long fibers.
Here's a birthday gift I wrapped last weekend in one of the shibori sheets. The paper has the nicest sheen and I had fun using long paper strips left over from making Pennsylvania German folded paper stars for the ribbon and bow, and added a tag from Etsy shop Paperuli that was featured in a post about surprisingly elegant things made from discarded paper.
The back cover of each book shows thumbnails of the included sheets along with wrapping ideas, plus there are often more tips on inside pages.
I appreciate the way the papers are packaged in a flat book format as this makes them easy to store, instead of tumbling about and unrolling the way cardboard tubes always seem to in my closet.
The paper is heavy enough so that the perforated folded sheets tear out easily one at a time when you're ready to wrap, and are protected by the book's sturdy front and back covers in between uses.
Paper crafters will love how well these papers handle, whether using them to cover boxes, make gift bags, or cut into elements to layer onto handmade cards. Come back on Thursday (U.S. friends, once the Thanksgiving kitchen madness is under control :)) as I'm excited to show you a new kind of paper ornament I've been making with two of the sheets.
More collections include Gold and Silver, Red and Gold, Black and Gold, Rainbow Watercolors, All Natural, Cool Blue, Cherry Blossoms, Indonesian Batik, Japanese Kimono, Blue and White, and Black and White. Here is the complete list of Tuttle Publishing gift wrapping collections... truly something for every taste and style.
Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post, however, I was sent the Shimmering Silver and Japanese Shibori collections from Tuttle Publishing in order to write this post with authenticity.
