Beautifully Stylish Paper Jewelry by Mayumi Origami
Let the festive season begin! I have such admiration for the perfectly folded, modern paper earrings and necklaces that jewelry designer/origami artist Renata Mayumi Fukuda creates, and have enjoyed gifting her work to delighted friends and relatives. This week Renata is offering the chance to win a pair of Mosaic Earrings of your choice from Etsy shop, Mayumi Origami [giveaway has ended].
No matter how eye-catching these photos are, I can assure you that seeing the pieces in person is even more wonderful. Remarkably lightweight, the designs are delicate, yet durable. All are made with Japanese handmade paper, known for its inherent strength, along with chic, nickel-free findings composed of 24K gold plated brass or rhodium plated brass. Some designs are also available in 24K gold plated 925 silver or 925 silver.
Renata protects the handmade chiogami paper with a water resistant coating, yet it still looks like the natural material it is, not shiny plastic. Admirers will find themselves leaning in for a closer look!
This year it's even easier to choose a gift for yourself or someone on your list from Renata's shop because for many of the jewelry pieces, she shows several paper choices, each paired with a photo of the item.
Renata will soon be launching a new website, but meanwhile, you can place an order through Etsy. And if you are in Germany, meet her in in person at one of the upscale markets she attends.
Events in the coming weeks will take place in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Cologne, and Leipzig. More details will be available on the Mayumi Origami Instagram feed.
Renata will be sending a pair of bestseller Mosaic Earrings of choice and a printed 2019 Mayumi Origami Lookbook to two winners worldwide. This same giveaway is underway via All Things Paper on Instagram. Yes, you may enter both places to double your chances. Good luck!
