Modern 2 in 1 Origami Earrings from Mayumi Origami
An international giveaway - how nice! I'm always happy to hear from Renata Mayumi of Etsy shop Mayumi Origami where you'll find a collection of stylish origami paper jewelry that is a delight to wear. Recently she wrote to introduce us to her 2 in 1 Origami Earrings. Great timing as Mother's Day is coming!
She is always doing interesting things in the world of paper and this spring and summer will be no exception. You can see/purchase Renata's jewelry in person at markets in Leipzig, Germany where she now resides, and learn to make origami flowers and jewelry via workshops in Germany and England.
Here are upcoming
dates and locations:
And now the international giveaway [ENDED]: One person who submits a comment on this blog post will be chosen at random to receive a pair of 2 in 1 Earrings in her/his choice of three patterned papers - turquoise, gold, or black, as shown at the top of this post. Enter by the end of Saturday, May 4, 2019.
A separate, but identical giveaway is underway on the @allthingspaper Instagram feed. You may enter both places to double your chances. The winners will be chosen via a random number generator, notified, and announced here and on Instagram. Good luck!
Renata Mayumi's jewellery shop is Mayumi Origami. She also creates contemporary paper art jewelry.

The reason these folded paper earrings are called 2 in 1 is
because they can be worn two ways - with the origami bead or without... for days when you're feeling especially minimalistic or if the paper color just doesn't go well with your outfit.
Renata neatly hand folds high quality papers from Japanese and
Nepal to make her sophisticated jewelry. Each origami element is combined with 24K gold plated brass
or 925 silver plated brass findings that perfectly complement the size of the paper pieces.
Her origami is water resistant due to the application of several
layers of non-toxic, acid-free varnish. I wear one of her necklaces often and can assure you that the paper beads truly have the
look of paper. This is important to me... there is a nice sheen, but not a glossy, plastic-like shine.
Quite a few additional styles and patterned papers are available in the Mayumi Origami shop, and also Kyoto rings and necklaces that Renata folds using thin metal sheets.
