Polimind DIY Papercraft Templates and Kits - Giveaway
Congratulations to itsmediana, rosemoon, and zumailina!
Because many of you enjoy building paper craft models, especially the fold-and-stick low poly variety, I'm happy to announce an Indiegogo campaign that just launched yesterday from Polimind, a creative design startup in Lisbon, Portugal. Andreia & Dusan are the architects behind Polimind who have designed a clever collection of DIY kits and printable templates that will appeal to all ages.
Dragon Head
The scary/cute/fun 3D models come in various sizes. If you prefer a kit over a printable template, there are many colors to choose from. "Made from high quality durable paper (240gr-300gr), they are perfect for DIY and crafts fans as well as anyone interested in making their living area inspiring and alive."
Owl
You'll feel a sense of accomplishment while folding and adhering tabs as you create your model.... perhaps work one-on-one with your school age child or make it a family project. "There is no age restriction, but a certain level of patience and coordination is definitely a plus."
Choose from Dragon Head, World Map, Bow Tie, Owl Mocho, Dragon Body, Alien Osiris and the Statue of Liberty. Extended Indiegogo goals will unlock additional models including Letters, Eiffel Tower, Modular Pattern and Lamp Shade.
If you order a kit, you will receive pre-cut, numbered and scored pieces with adhesive for easy assembly. If you choose the printable template option, Andreia & Dusan recommend using high quality card stock paper. Because typical home printer paper is thin and does not have a lot of structural integrity, making the models with printer paper is not advisable.
Instead, go to a print-on-demand venue (such as Staples, Office Max, The UPS Store, FedEx, or Walmart, here in the U.S.) where you will choose a card stock color. You will forward the emailed PDF template to the print shop and in short order you will have your printed model, ready to cut, score, fold, and adhere with double-sided tape or glue.
