Paper Jewelry from Taylor Twigg Designs

I'm sure I've spent more time assembling this post than makes sense, but what a joy it's been to pore over all of the beautiful jewelry in Taylor Twigg's Etsy shop, Taylor's Eclectic! You'll find wearable paper art in the form of necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets... all shapes, styles and colors.

 

Taylor surrounds the tiniest pieces of translucent paper with sterling silver or 14k gold and waterproofs them with sealant.

She keeps her unique process close to the vest and who can blame her? What she achieves is truly unusual and artful.

A master of detail, Taylor finds her specialized hand sculpting process to be meditative and explains that she loves working with paper because it is such an underestimated medium.

Taylor hopes that each piece she makes is meaningful to its owner. Customers often gift her art work for anniversaries since the traditional first year present is paper and the fourth is flowers and fruit.

 

Taylor studied history and photography in college and was encouraged to pursue an artistic career. Clay sculpture was her first venture, but then she turned to jewelry making and hasn't looked back.

 

As with every piece in my line, these Forget Me Not earrings have been individually hand sculpted. Each earring half is sculpted to match the other half in the pair as much as humanly possible. Wear them in the rainiest, snowiest, hottest climates without fear. They will wear as any piece of fine jewelry would.

The earrings are soldered to hand sculpted sterling silver earring posts. They have been work hardened as well as tumble hardened for strength and durability. The backing is a sterling silver butterfly earring nut.
