Paper Sculpture Custom Wall Art Giveaway - Apart From This

Congratulations to giveaway winner, Lauri Crowe!

I was delighted when David Dunleavy of Apart From This wrote to offer one of his modern stripe paper sculptures as a giveaway. You might remember this post about the wonderfully unique framed wall art he creates from hand-cut strips of sturdy paper.

Recently David has been experimenting with adding texture to his contemporary sculptures. For example, this indented heart.

A series of three sea-themed pieces is headed to Dubai. I love the way the curves impart a sense of rippling water.

The trio is made in the larger size that he offers... each 11-inch square (28cm) contains over 1500 strips of hand-cut paper and is mounted on a 19-inch mat board. Smaller sculptures measure 5.5 inches (14cm) and are made up of hundreds of paper strips. Each size is enclosed within a glass-front black or white box frame.

On a personal note, I ordered a sculpture from David to give as a gift and have to say that after seeing it in person, his secret process of lining up so many pieces and perfectly framing them still mystifies me! But no matter how the handsome result is achieved, it is even more remarkable than these photos convey.

While there is an already completed selection of art squares to choose from at the Apart From This website, David welcomes custom orders... any color combination is doable. Coordinate with room decor or select the colors of your favorite sports team, school, flag, or location. He can be contacted via email at david@apartfromthis.com or via Instagram DM.

Now about that giveaway! One winner will receive a custom-made, smooth cut, 5.5-inch (14cm) square piece in his or her colorway choice mounted in a 9-inch (23cm) black or white frame. This is a worldwide giveaway. The winner will submit to David a photo of a desired color palette, inspiration (nature, interior etc.) or idea, or of course can choose an example from the website.
