Signature Shakespeare Papercut Editions - Giveaway

***The giveaway has ended. Scroll down to see who won!***

Are you a fan of paper cutting? How about Shakespeare? Sterling Signature recently released Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth as the first titles of a “Signature Shakespeare” series. The books feature laser paper cuttings that make these editions of the beloved plays extra special.

Romeo and Juliet Cover

Created by Kevin Stanton, the elegant paper cuttings are double layers of color - red and purple for Romeo and Juliet and blue and green for Macbeth. Each book has a laser cut cover, five interior laser cuts that open the acts, along with more than forty printed illustrations. I bet the Bard himself would think these gorgeous books are quite the feat!

MacBeth Cover

I asked Kevin if a person was inclined to cut apart the books (I know... gasp!) with the intention of framing the paper cuttings, would it be possible? He answered that the interior tip-ins are not glued down and could definitely be carefully removed if someone so desired. He thought it was actually very exciting to think that someone might want to frame the pieces.

Romeo and Juliet Interior

By the way, two more books will be released in the fall - Much Ado About Nothing and Hamlet for which Kevin has completed the cut paper artwork. You might enjoy this interesting Washington Post article about him and also the origin of the book series.

Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth

Sterling Signature has offered to send a set of both books to
two winners in the U.S. or Canada. Leave a comment below by Sunday, June 24 as your entry.

MacBeth Interior

The winners will be selected by a random number generator and announced on this post and on the All Things Paper Facebook page as soon as they have been notified. Good luck!

Congratulations to jcwega27 and wasabipress! They have been contacted and are delighted to have won these beautiful books. Stay tuned for another giveaway coming up soon. It will be an international one so everyone will have a chance to enter - yay!
