Quilled Snowflakes - Giant Size

Snow is in the forecast for Delaware tomorrow... fingers crossed it will be more of the big flakes that just drift down gently and don't accumulate. Actually though, I'd much rather look at beautiful paper snowflakes like these!

Recently featured by do-it-yourself party printables designer, Kim Stoegbauer of The TomKat Studio, they were made by Nicole Wills of Tradewind Tiaras as decorations for a Sugar Plum Fairy/Nutcracker-themed birthday party. Hung on clear monofilament, they give the impression of floating to earth. Additional snowflakes decorated this gorgeous tree.


What a party it was! Take a moment to scroll through the many pictures... Nicole made everything herself. She's quite an amazing party planner, as well as a designer of crystal wedding headpieces, and even does things like makes her own cookie cutters with aluminum flashing from the hardware store to get the various shapes she needs - now that's pretty impressive!

    I couldn't agree anymore, these snowflakes are dazzling and wonderful and such a great final touch for an evening party!! :-) Would be great for a kids party with the theme "winter" or something.

    Thanks for posting these Ann, I've been experimenting with "giant" quilled snowflakes recently... but this tutorial is better than what I've come up with so far so I'll follow that I think!

    Very pretty! I really wanted to try doing some snowflakes to hang on the tree this year, but it just didn't happen. Maybe next year! And I LOVE the idea of making cookie cutters out of aluminum flashing!!!! I'll have to remember that!
