Quilled Lavender
I'm crazy about lavender and one of my dreams is to visit Provence when the fields are in bloom. For right now though, the few plants I put in alongside our house will have to do. Because they tend to spill over the sidewalk a bit, the scent wafts up when I brush against the stems while walking past - love that! Here's a photo taken when the flowers were in their prime last week.
I was inspired to quill some lavender in different shades of purple...
because it's nice to be reminded of the real thing all year long.

The silk moire-effect background paper was a sheet I printed out from a wallpaper site. I'm not sure if the link to that exact paper still exists, but you'll find loads of other papers to choose from here. Just click on any book title that strikes your fancy and then you can page through it... all of the wallpaper patterns open up to nearly full page size.
I LOVE LAVENDER! This is really neat.

From afar (Or as far as you were in the first photo) you achieved a remarkable resemblance to the real lavender. A sunning piece of work.
